The Cyrillic letter Nje (Њ, њ) is a ligature of Н and Ь. It is used in Macedonian and Serbian, where it represents a voiced palatal nasal /ɲ/, similar to Spanish ñ in "señor" (cf. Polish ń, Czech and Slovak ň). It was invented by Vuk Stefanović Karadžić. It corresponds to the digraph letter nj in the Serbian Latin and Croatian alphabets.
