Coordinates: 21°08′17″S 47°59′26″W / 21.13806°S 47.99056°W / -21.13806; -47.99056 Sertãozinho is a Brazilian city in the State of São Paulo. 325 km distant from São Paulo and 702 km from Brasilia. Its territory of 418 square kilometers has an estimated population of 128,632 inhabitants.

The municipality comprises the city of Sertaozinho and two districts: Cross Posses and Dumont. It is among the most populous cities in the state of [São Paulo is the seventh best city in Brazil to live in quality of life.

History

The foundation of Sertãozinho date of mid-1877. At that time, Antonio Pedroso Malachi, one of the joint owners of the farm Sertãozinho, built his homestead, making donation of 12 acres and a half of land around the villa, the Nossa Senhora Aparecida, having lifted the place where today stands the Plaza 21 April, a chapel in honor of the Patron. With other donations that have joined the Malachi of Antonio Pedroso, equity reached 148 acres. The core of the village was elevated to District of Peace on 10 March 1885, by Law No. 31, with the name of the Town of Ali Sertãozinho the city by Law No. 463 of 5 December 1896, having been installed on April 21, 1897.

It was its first mayor Mr. José Onofre Ribeiro Muniz and the first council: Makarios de Melo, President, Joao Pedro de Andrade Júnior, José Luiz Nogueira, Aprígio Rello Paula Araujo, Nicholas Pollo.

On October 26, 1906, by Law No. 1018, the District was created, the installation took place on 12 December of that year. It was his first judge Fulton Dr. Renato Silveira da Motta, with the local courts, as well as Sertãozinho, Depth and Barrinha. The first name was Sertãozinho Chapel, after Engine Nossa Senhora Aparecida Sertaozinho, Aparecida de Sertãozinho and finally, Sertãozinho. Urban Development

The city of Sertãozinho throughout its history has always been at the forefront of national and state, but nothing compared to what is happening in recent years, and the city is rapidly developing urban and received investments in various segments throughout the area the city, here are some projects that are happening or have been introduced in each region of the city.

Southern Zone

Northern Zone

New parks are being made in this region. The Ecological Park Gustavo Simioni is in this region and the new stadium Sertãozinho Football Club will be built in the northern zone. The expansion of the northern districts is greater than all other regions of the city. Groups supermarkets are investing in this region. The building that the City is being built between the avenues Hideo Takada and Aegisthus Sichieri.

West Zone

The largest sugar and alcohol in the world is based in the west. CPFL has just opened a subway stop in the industrial district. The trade of the west grows very fast, famous companies are betting that trade, especially in the Nossa Senhora Aparecida. The Business District 4 is under construction.

Downtown

The Center Sertãozinho is the 3rd largest in the region. Sertãozinho is one of the biggest ethanol (ethyl alcohol) producers in the world. Every year, during 4 days in September, the city hosts the most important fair of technology on production of etanol and sugarcane in the world, Fenasucro & Agrocana.

Sertãozinho is living an economic boom. The city has more than 500 industry factories and a high HDI (Human Development Index): 0,833.

Sports

There are two popular sports in the city, football and roller hockey. Sertãozinho Futebol Clube is the city's football team, and Sertãozinho Hóquei Clube is the city's roller hockey club. Sertãozinho Hóquei Clube won several national titles and is a successful club.
